Long-term, inclusive, self-determined prosperity depends not only on creating wealth, but on stewarding, preserving, and mobilizing indigenous capital across generations

Vision

We envision a world of nations where long-term, widely shared prosperity endures across generations, anchored by indigenous capital and strengthened by a values-aligned ecosystem.

Mission

To strengthen the ecosystem that enables indigenous capital to be effectively stewarded, governed, and deployed as the anchor capital that attracts and catalyzes the values-aligned partners, both domestic and global—needed to advance a nation’s long-term, inclusive prosperity.

The Problem & Solution

While our thesis is universally relevant and geographically agnostic, we begin on the African continent, where rising wealth, legacy-building, and systemic opportunities intersect.

The Problem

Africa is home to one of the fastest-growing concentrations of wealth in the world. Yet despite thousands of families possessing fortunes capable of influencing entire economies, the continent has far too few family offices—the professionalized structures that turn private wealth into well-governed, long-term capital for development.

The Solution

This gap matters. Family offices are not just investment vehicles; they are influential capital multipliers and intentional allocators. When well-structured and skillfully operated, they can mobilize financial, social, political, and relational capital. They are uniquely innovative and flexible—able to be fast or patient, commercial or philanthropic, risk-tolerant or stabilizing.

Theory of Change

When African families adopt well-governed family office structures and partner with development actors, three outcomes follow

Your support empowers 7GI to expand research, advocacy,  convenings, and to equip Africa’s wealth-holders to drive sustainable development. All contributions are tax-deductible and may include:

  • Donations or grants (individuals, families, institutions, foundations, DAFs)
  • Event or program sponsorship with branding and visibility
  • Gifting of assets with established value
  • In-kind contributions (expertise, venues, services)
  • Volunteering as a guest speaker, trainer, or mentor

Africa faces a $200B annual financing gap. While development finance institutions, and governments, play vital roles, families bring something unique: cultural fluency, patient capital, and trusted long-term commitment.

  • The awareness and motivation that lead to the knowledge and creation of more family offices across Africa.
  • Policy shifts that enable governments to partner effectively with family capital.
  • Bridges between African and global families, unlocking co-investment and shared learning.
  • More capital flowing to African infrastructure, SMEs, and social enterprises, creating jobs and services in areas like energy, health, food, and education.
